This week Martha rushed to get a Covid-Tested flight to Rome so we could arrive in time to renew our Permesso di Sojourno--our permission to stay longer than 90 days at a time in Italy--without having to quarantine when we got there. Then we tried to lease a car, as we always do. None available until September. But! Oh Yeah! We could rent a car! So how much would an economical car cost for fewer than a full three months? Take a guess. For an econobox, we'd shell out about what the car was worth. And that would be a cool $12000 dollars. So then there was a scramble to cancel our plane reservations and such in order to go later, when the lease car is available mid September.
Auto Europe said: Rental rates are very high, which is why the leasing availability suddenly decreased. Boy, they got that right!
Anyone else planning a trip to Europe this summer? Hows that going?
